National and public holidays in the UK

Comments 0 comments

Here are some important dates in the United Kingdom holiday calendar, including UK public holidays, school holidays, daylight savings, and mother's and father's days.

Remember that public holidays are slightly different in Scotland compared to England and Wales. Northern Ireland has the same eight public holidays as England and Wales plus two more: St Patrick's Day and the Anniversary of the Battle of the Boyne in 1690.

If a bank holiday occurs on a weekend, the next weekday (often a Monday) usually becomes a substitute day bank holiday.
