Vilnius City Hall bans gay parade

Authorities in Vilnius, Lithuania, have banned a gay parade scheduled for May 8 after previously sanctioning it. They motivated the move by security concerns as the action had been timed to coincide with the Victory in Europe Day. The decision has drawn criticism from human rights groups and from President Dalia Grybauskaite.
