Uzbekistan shores up Kyrgyz refugees

At least 400,000 people have been displaced by ethnic violence in southern Kyrgyzstan, with 100,000 more pouring into neighboring Uzbekistan in the past couple of days. Makeshift camps in the densely populated Andizhan province are home to more than 80,000 refugees uprooted by last week’s ethnic violence in Kyrgyzstan, our correspondent says.
