Ukraine president returns to work after sickness
Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych on Monday returned to work after a four-day sick leave for "acute respiratory infection", his press service told AFP.
"Yes, the president has come back to work," a spokesman said without giving further details on the leader's agenda for Monday.
Yanukovych returned to his office amid an unprecedented political crisis precipitated by protests against his regime that have lasted more than two months.
The centre of Kiev has been sealed off by barricades and occupied by protesters since the authorities scrapped a key deal with the European Union in favour of closer ties with Russia.
The EU said Monday it was preparing an economic aid package for Ukraine after Saturday talks in Munich with the leaders of the Ukrainian opposition.
