Two dead as ship sinks in Russia's Volga river: ministry
At least two people died when a ship carrying 173 people sank in Russia's Volga river Sunday, an emergency ministry spokesman said.
The ship with 40 passengers and 33 crew members aboard went down near the village of Syukeyevo in Russia's Tatarstan region, Oleg Zyugeyev told AFP.
Fifty-five people were rescued by a passing ship, he added, noting that an investigation was under way.
