The Dutch Liberal Party wins snap elections

In the Netherlands, the center-right Liberal Party has announced its victory in snap parliamentary elections. With at least 96% of votes counted, the party had 31 of 150 seats, with the Social-Democrats and the Labor party coming in second and third respectively. The Christian Democrat party led by Prime Minister Jan Peter Balkenende suffered a devastating defeat.
