Thai authorities impose curfew, plan crackdown

The authorities in Thailand have introduced a curfew in a number of riots-seized districts in Bangkok and are bracing up for a decisive crackdown on the protesters. Thousands of people have been involved in bloody clashes on Bangkok streets. They protesters, known as red shirts, insist on early elections and want the incumbent Prime Minister Abhisit Vejjajiva to step down.
