Slovakia faces government change

Appearing on national television Sunday, the Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico acknowledged the defeat of his Social Democrat-led coalition in Saturday’s general elections. According to counts, the coalition has shrunk from a majority to just 72 out of 150 parliamentary seats. Interestingly, the Social Democrats themselves garnered 35 percent of the total vote, their best result ever.
