Sarkozy welcomes Russian 'help' on Libya
President Nicolas Sarkozy of France on Friday thanked his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev for helping efforts to resolve the conflict in Libya, after Moscow urged Moamer Kadhafi to step down.
Sarkozy said Kadhafi must leave Libya, but it had yet to be decided where he would go and how he would get there. He said Medvedev's help was essential.
"Yes, we need President Medvedev's help. This help is welcome," Sarkozy told journalists after the G8 summit of rich world powers in the northern French resort of Deauville.
