Russia's growth slowed slightly in the second quarter of 2011, Economy Minister Elvira Nabiullina said on Thursday while predicting stronger figures for the second half of the year.

Nabiullina said that growth of gross domestic product expanded by 3.9 percent in the first six months of the year.

The state statistics committee had earlier reported 4.1-percent growth in the first quarter of the year.

The minister forecast that second-half growth would be stronger, reaching 4.5 percent. Prime Minister Vladimir Putin has forecast annual growth of 4.2 percent in 2011.
