Russia's Khodorkovsky to appeal guilty verdict: lawyer
The defence of Mikhail Khodorkovsky intends to appeal the jailed tycoon's conviction in his second trial on embezzlement and money laundering charges, news agencies quoted his lawyer saying Monday.
"We definitely will," lead attorney Vadim Klyuvgant was quoted as saying by Interfax when asked about the appeal.
A Moscow court found Khodorkovsky and his co-defendent Platon Lebedev guilty of embezzlement and money laundering in a conviction that could see the former Yukos oil company executive remain in jail until 2017.
It was not immediately clear when Judge Viktor Danilkin intended to pass sentence.
