Russia will buy 50 Boeing 737 Next Generation aircraft worth 3.7 billion dollars for Aeroflot, with Russian Technologies reserving the right to order 35 more jets, the US aerospace giant said Friday.

"Russian Technologies' choice of Boeing's planes is yet another important step in our long-term cooperation," Boeing Commercial Airplanes chief and CEO Jim Albaugh said in a company statement.

The US planemaker said the supervisory board of Russian Technologies would review the contract in October.

The aircraft purchased by state-run Russian Technologies are destined for Russian airline Aeroflot.
