Ten Russian spies freed by the United States will arrive on a flight from Vienna at Moscow's Domodedovo airport shortly before 1400 GMT, an airport spokeswoman told AFP.

The Kremlin agents were to arrive at Domodedovo on a plane belonging to Russia's emergency situations ministry at around 5:27 pm (1327 GMT), the spokeswoman said on condition of anonymity.

A Russian plane bearing the ministry's insignia was earlier seen taking off from Vienna.

The airport website said a YAK-42 plane belonging to the Russian emergencies ministry -- the same plane that left Vienna earlier -- was expected with a slight delay at 5:50 pm (1350 GMT).
