Russia slams 'unacceptable' attacks on media in Egypt
The Russian foreign ministry on Friday condemned as "unacceptable" attacks on journalists in Egypt covering the raging demonstrations against the rule of President Hosni Mubarak.
"We consider the repression of journalists acting within the framework of the law to be unacceptable," it said in a statement.
"We urge the Egyptian authorities, the opposition and all Egyptians who are not indifferent to the reputation of their country to ensure the security of foreign journalists and other citizens."
