Russia consumes 70 tons of Afghan heroin per year

70 tons of Afghan heroin worth about 14 billion are consumed in Russia annually, Executive Director of the UN Office on Drugs and Crime UNODC, Antonio Costa, announced during an international anti-drug forum in Moscow. The total cost of all drugs consumed globally is 20 billion. Russia is turning into one of the world’s largest illicit drug markets.
