Russia condemns Jordan rocket attack
Russia on Monday condemned "all displays of terrorism" after rocket attacks on the Israeli resort of Eilat killed one person and injured five in neighbouring Jordan, the foreign ministry said.
"We condemn all displays of terrorism including the firing of rockets into southern Israel as well as Israel's disproportionate response to attacks by Palestinian rebels that have caused civilian casualties," Russia's foreign ministry said in a statement.
One of the Grad-type rockets fired in the direction of Eilat, a resort on the Red Sea, landed in the nearby Jordanian port of Aqaba, killing a 51-year-old taxi driver.
Russia is a member of the Middle East Quartet seeking a resolution to the decades-old conflict between Israelis and Palestinians, along with the European Union, United States and the United Nations.
