Police raid company of ex-Moscow mayor's wife: report
Russian police on Thursday raided the office of a construction company owned by the wife of Moscow's deposed mayor, who engaged in a bitter battle with the Kremlin before his dismissal, Interfax reported.
Crack troops from the OMON security service closed off all the central Moscow building's exits and assembled all the staff of Yelena Baturina's company in one room, the Interfax quoted a company source as saying.
The news agency added that the raid was tied to a disputed loan that Inteko took out with the Bank of Moscow, a lender created by Yury Luzhkov shortly after he became mayor.
Yelena Baturina was ranked by Moscow's Finans magazine this week as one of Russia's 100-richest people with a fortune of some $1.1 billion.
