Monkey Police increasingly popular in Thailand

In has recently become quite common in southern Thailand that monkeys dressed in police uniform take part in daily patrols at traffic checkpoints. Drivers can play and take photos with furry officers, writes Southeast Asia Globe Magazine. According to the police department in the Saiburi district of South Thailand’s Pattani province, this helps defuse tension during roadside stop-checks.
