Medvedev to visit other islands in Kuril archipelago: Lavrov

Russia's President Dmitry Medvedev is planning to visit other islands in the Kuril archipelago, some of which Tokyo claims are part of Japanese territory, Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said Tuesday.

Speaking at a conference in Oslo, Lavrov said he had talked with Medvedev early Tuesday, a day after he had infuriated Japan with the first ever trip by a Russian leader to one of four disputed islands, which have prevented the signing of a post-war peace treaty between the two nations.

"He (Medvedev) will visit the other islands that are part of that group of islands," Lavrov told reporters during his trip to Norway.
