Medvedev tells Gates of 'indiscriminate' force in Libya
Russian President Dmitry Medvedev expressed concern Tuesday to US Defence Secretary Robert Gates about the "indiscriminate" use of force by foreign powers in Libya, the Kremlin said.
"Medvedev expressed concern about how the Security Council resolution on the no-fly zone was being implemented, and about the possibility of casualties among the civilian population in connection with the indiscriminate use of force by the aviation," the Kremlin press service said.
Medvedev also confirmed that Russia had no plans to take part in the campaign, which was approved by a UN Security Council vote from which Russia abstained.
