Kyrgyzstan withdraws request for Russian peacekeepers

Kyrgyzstan has withdrawn its request for Russian peacekeepers to clamp down on mass-scale unrest and interethnic clashes. This came in an interview with the Wall Street Journal by the Russian President Dmitry Medvedev. He added that he saw no need in sending Russian troops to Kyrgyzstan to bring the situation back to normal there.
