Kyrgyzstan asks Russia for military help: interim leader

Kyrgyzstan's interim leader Roza Otunbayeva on Saturday appealed to Russian President Dmitry Medvedev to send military forces to help quell ethnic violence roiling the south of the country.

She said ethnic violence in southern Kyrgyzstan had spiralled "out of control" after over 50 people have been killed in the ongoing clashes.
