Journalist's attackers will be punished: Medvedev
Those behind the brutal attack on leading Russian journalist Oleg Kashin will be found and punished, regardless of their position in society, President Dmitry Medvedev said Monday.
"These forces must be found. Whoever is involved in this crime will be punished, regardless of his position, place in society or accomplishments," Medvedev said in comments broadcast on state television.
"I have seen it written in the press that they (the people behind the crime) will not be found. They will be found. There is no doubt," he added.
A leading reporter for the Kommersant newspaper, 30-year-old Kashin was brutally attacked in central Moscow early Saturday, forcing doctors to put him in an induced coma.
Medvedev said he believed the attack was "not a common crime. Wallets are not stolen like this."
