Irish pub fire kills four in Russia

Four people were killed early Sunday when a fire swept through a crowded Irish pub in the central Russian city of Kazan, news reports said.

There were no reports of foreigners being killed in the Leprechaun pub fire, which began in the VIP room and then quickly spread through the structure's cavernous halls, rescue officials said.

The million-strong capital of Tatarstan rests 450 miles (720 kilometres) east of Moscow on the Volga river.
