'I have committed no crime': Russian conductor Pletnev
Acclaimed Russian conductor Mikhail Pletnev on Thursday rejected charges of raping a 14-year-old boy in Thailand, declaring he had "committed no crime".
"I have committed no crime," Pletnev told reporters at a news conference just after his return to Moscow from Thailand.
"I could not imagine myself in the role of a rapist. I am against all forms of violence, especially when it concerns children."
Pletnev, artistic director of the Russian National Orchestra, was allowed by a Thai court Wednesday to travel overseas after posting extra bail, but is required to report back to court every 12 days.
