Gulf of Mexico oil spill -40,000 barrels a day

The Gulf of Mexico oil spill has reached 40,000 barrels a day, which doubles the previous estimates, US scientists have reported. They think this resulted from BP’s actions when its submarine robots sawed off a damaged pipe to install a special cap allowing the collection of up to 15,500 barrels a day on June 3rd.
