Germany to disburse 150bn to save the euro

The German government is tabling a bill to provide one fifth of the 750 billion euros agreed by the European Union and the IMF as a ‘euro stabilization fund’. The debate in the Bundestag is next week. Plans for the unprecedented rescue coffer emerged from hectic bargaining which followed the near-meltdown of Greece.
