Russian gas giant Gazprom said Thursday it had paid off its gas transit debt to Belarus, apparently resolving the last issue in a feud that raised fears of European supply disruptions.

"The payment to Beltransgaz for gas transit has now been made," Gazprom spokesman Sergei Kupriyanov said, referring to Belarus's gas pipeline operator.

"There are currently no problems that would hinder gas transit and gas supplies to Belarus," he said in televised comments.
