Gazprom, South Korea discuss joint exploration of Kamchatka shelf

Talks are under way between Gazprom and South Korean companies over the joint exploration of shelf deposits off the western coast of the Russian Kamchatka peninsula, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin has told reporters in Moscow. The West Kamchatka shelf deposits hold an estimated 1.8 billion tons of oil and 2 trillion cubic meters of gas.
