The flow of Russian gas to Europe via Belarus was not immediately interrupted Monday, the country's energy ministry said, after Russia reduced Belarussian gas supplies over an outstanding debt.

"Transit gas through the territory of Belarus goes uninterrupted," energy ministry spokeswoman Lyudmila Zenkovich told AFP.

Earlier in the day Russia reduced gas supplies to transit country Belarus by 15 percent over an outstanding 200-million-dollar debt.
