Eight killed in Russian van crash
Eight people were killed Thursday when a van smashed into an oncoming truck in the central Russian region of Tula, the RIA Novosti news agency reported.
The van's driver swerved into the oncoming traffic, killing the truck driver and seven people on board the van, the news agency quoted a police spokesman as saying.
Russia currently has the highest road accident mortality rate in Europe, with about 30,000 deaths reported every year.
