Chemists Receive Lomonosov Gold Medals

The highest awards of the Russian Academy of Sciences, gold medals named after Mikhail Lomonosov, have been awarded to the chemists Vadim Ivanov and Ryoji Noyori. The Russian scientist was awarded for his contribution to bioorganic chemistry, while the second medal went to his Japanese colleague for the discovery of c atalytic asymmetric synthesis.
