Blast-hit coalmine director steps down

The director of the Raspadskaya coalmine in Siberia, which was rocked by explosions on the night of May 8th, with 66 people dying and some 100 others injured as a result, has tendered his resignation. Yesterday Prime Minister Vladimir Putin held a government commission meeting on the tragedy in the form of a teleconference hookup.
