Alcohol in blood of air force chief on Kaczynski plane
Experts found alcohol in the blood of the Polish air force chief who was present in the cockpit of the plane of president Lech Kaczynski that crashed in Russia, investigators said Wednesday.
The air force chief General Andrzej Blasik was present in the cockpit right up to the crash and his presence put psychological pressure on the pilot to complete the landing despite the poor weather conditions, investigators said.
"As the result of pathology tests, alcohol was found in the blood of the air force chief in a concentration of 0.6 grams per litre,"said the head of the Moscow-based aviation commission Tatyana Anodina.
