Afghan drug threat is a global challenge

Russia’s President Dmitry Medvedev, in his speech at an international anti-drug forum in Moscow on Wednesday, called for a global crackdown on the Afghan drug production. " The past decade saw a two-fold rise in opium production, which attests to the scale of the disaster. Afghanistan is the world’s main supplier of opiates.
