Fun and factual: exhibitions, workshops and entertainment

Newcomers who are still finding their feet in the Netherlands will have the chance to learn about setting up a bank account, doing their taxes, or finding childcare, a school or university. Both arrivals and settled expats can enjoy these resources alongside entertainment and a wealth of cultural activities to dive into Dutch culture. Discover delicious Dutch food and beverages, entertainment, networking opportunities and much more.

The extensive program also includes a variety of workshops to help you integrate into life in the Netherlands. There will be entertaining performances and presentations on the main stage, and even speed dating for expat singles. For families with children, the Expat Fair has a dedicated kids’ area managed by childcare professionals.

Shake up your world and broaden your horizon by discovering what's going on in the rest of the expat community. You don’t need to take our word for it; here is what visitors of previous editions said.

The international fair for established and fresh expats

“I attended the fair for the first time. Even though I have lived in Holland for 10 years, I am very glad I went and collected interesting, helpful information,” said Andrea.

Osvaldo commented: “I arrived in Amsterdam five years ago and after my first job (I better not tell you about it), I looked for jobs on this website. I have a great job at a big company in Amsterdam. I´ve had the chance to be in the last two editions of the fair, which gave me great ideas to start a freelance-based-artist group to create nice projects (mainly, non-profit projects). The “i am not a tourist” Expat Fair is a great opportunity for expat newbies and oldies to get an overview of the labour market in one place/day.”

Luis summed it up well with his comment, “Informative is the key word.”

The "i am not a tourist" Expat Fair is now in its 14th year, and bigger and better than ever before,” says Expatica managing partner Mark Welling. “We continue to rise to the challenge of creating new reasons to engage with internationals in the Netherlands, and I’m really looking forward to this year’s event, which will have even more to offer to our international friends.”

If you're looking for a job, you don’t need to look far: the Job Fair for Internationals will take place at the same venue on the same day. This job fair is the event for pursuing an international career in the Netherlands, connecting the international community with companies and recruiters interested in their skills and expertise.
