Partner contribution: Visit Europe's first virtual Expat fair 19/03/2008 00:00
On 24 April 2008, the "First Virtual Expat Fair" is going to take place.
Where? Well, in your own home! With “virtual”, we mean live on the internet, so attending a fair was never easier! Still, it looks like you are attending a “real life” fair with the possibility to visit booths, chat with stand representatives and other attendants, have a live job interview, get relevant information and documentation, and visit live seminars!

The goal of the First Virtual Expat Fair is to bring together expats (or those planning on) living in the Netherlands and organisations that are active in the expat business. You will be able to apply for your perfect multilingual job (Dutch not required!), handle all your banking matters, subscribe for a Dutch Virtual Classroom, become a member of the expat community, find yourself a nice apartment, and much more!
Among the companies present at the fair are:
• Expatica
• Undutchables Recruitment Agency
Visiting the First Virtual Expat Fair is free: all you have to do is sign up beforehand. If you bring along five friends you have the chance of winning an Amazon voucher!
Join us during this exciting new event and sign up now!
See you at the Expatica Fair!
The Expatica “i am not a tourist” Fair rolls around for its 5th outing on the 12th October.

- First of all, thank you so much for your time. This issue is very important to me as my expat lifestyle continues to motivate me to travel and live abroad. I would like to know if it is possible to take a year for myself and live in Amsterdam with a very simple job such as bartender. I want to use this year abroad to study for my tests to get into the Masters Program at University of Texas School of Architecture. I will be studying on my own for the GRE and becoming proficient in the Dutch and German language, as well as writing on the local architecture. I would also do some travelling to important architectural sites for my studies and writings. Hello Heather, Sorry to say but you first need to have a job in order to get workpermit or....you should find a Dutch partner that will put in a guaranteen for you. One possibility is to come over on a tourist visa and then try to find a job here but you need an employer that guarantees a job and can explain why he needs a non EU citizen to fill up the position. It's not easy. Sorry I don't have better news for you. Kind regards Ed van Bodegraven Voerman International b.v.
