Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival

Comments0 comments

On the 23rd, 24th and 25th June 2017, the International Bluegrass Festival arrives at the Pijnackerplein in Rotterdam. Over the past years it has become known as 'the' bluegrass festival of Europe.

In the Old North of Rotterdam there is a historic square with arbor that has been making banjo's and mandolins, strips and workshops, beer and sandwiches since 2011.

It began as a neighborhood festival in the Old North, a popular district of Rotterdam. Since then, the Rotterdam Bluegrass Festival has grown into a three-day event of international allure, with over 12,000 visitors.

The festival hosts a variety of artists and performers such as The Legendary Shack ShakersTangarine and well renowned Sierra Hull. Click for a full list.

Here's a video of Sierra Hull to give you a flavour of what to expect:

More than music

Sit back, relax and enjoy the music, or attend a workshop, masterclass, jam session, or demonstration. Crowd participation is often encouraged at this festival. Be prepared to clap, sing and dance.
