24/08/2005Woman rents husband out via eBay

24 August 2005

BRUSSELS — A woman from Jette in Brussels has offered her husband up for rent via eBay for a period of four hours and 32 minutes.

The woman wants a night out away from her husband and decided to place an advertisement on the popular auction site.

She lives 24 hours per day, seven days a week with her husband and wants to break that pattern, newspaper 'Het Nieuwsblad' reported on Wednesday.

"Maybe he can do some household redecorating work for you, although he is not really well-versed in that," the woman wrote.

"Or a candlelight dinner? I must say he is rather stingy. Or he can give a little massage, a pleasure that I have not yet experienced."

By 5.30pm on Thursday, three bids had been given, the highest of which was EUR 1.50. Bidding can take place until 1 September.

The advertisement can be found at this link.
