MADRID - Short men and short and tall women are the most jealous in their sexual relationships, a study carried out in Spain and the Netherlands was Friday quoted as saying.

The Spanish daily El Mundo quoted a study of 349 Spanish and 200 Dutch students carried out by the universities of Valencia and Groningen.

Short men, especially less muscular and heavier ones, are more insecure and therefore jealous of taller, more attractive and socially more influential rivals in their relationships with women, the study found.

Short and tall women were more jealous than medium-height women, who are considered the most attractive by men.

The study has been published by the journal Evolution and Human Behaviour.
