23/11/2008Dutch help UK police track fleeing criminals

British police have set up a special unit to track down criminals who flee to Amsterdam.

23 November 2008

AMSTERDAM - In the past three months it has led to the arrest of six individuals.

The Dutch police believe that dozens of such lawbreakers have assumed false identities and are eluding the British police by hiding out in Amsterdam.

The British unit has tackled the problem by compiling a list of the individuals they are looking for and sending it, with photographs, to the Dutch authorities so that they can conduct searches on Dutch territory.
