Dutch tennis player Arantxa Rus has been eliminated from the French Open at Roland Garros a few days after beating Belgium’s Kim Clijsters, the world’s number 2.

In the third round she suffered a crushing defeat at the hands of Maria Kirilenko, from Russia, who beat her 6-1 6-1.

Rus was the last Dutch player still participating in the tournament.

Thiemo de Bakker, Robin Haase and Thomas Schoorel had been knocked out earlier.
