GRONINGEN - Post will not be delivered in the city of Groningen on Tuesday, as Dutch postal service workers call the fifth of a series of nationwide strikes. Only bereavement letters and medical mail will be handled.

TNT employees are demanding a 3.5 percent pay increase, while management will only agree to a 1.5 percent rise. In the coming days, the towns of Arnhem, Zwolle, Den Bosch and the city of Amsterdam will be affected, with a nationwide strike set for 28 May.
