A woman who sent over 100 threatening e-mails to Geert Wilders has been sentenced to a year in jail and conditional psychiatric treatment.

THE NETHERLANDS – A woman who sent more than 100 threatening e-mails to Freedom Party leader Geert Wilders has been sentenced to a year in jail and conditional psychiatric treatment.

She had previously been sentenced to a year in jail and unconditional treatment.

Psychiatrists said locking the 35-year-old, who suffers from delusional disorders, in an institution would be detrimental to her psychological well-being.

The woman, a librarian from Tilburg, was arrested at the computer she had used to send death threats in January 2007.

In February 2009, three boys were sentenced to 50 hours of community service for sending death threats to the anti-Islamic MP.
