NIJMEGEN - A 30-year-old woman from Vorden (Gelderland) is expecting identical triplets, the St. Radboud University Medical Centre in Nijmegen announced on Friday morning. Identical triplets are extremely rare, occurring only once in every 200 million births.

The triplets were conceived naturally. The hospital could not say how often single-egg triplets are born in the Netherlands. Earlier this week it was reported that a British woman in Austria gave birth to healthy identical triplets.
