Windmill park another step further
Deputy Public Works Minister Tineka Huizinga has granted a permit for a windmill park in the North Sea, 40 kilometres off the coast of the Hook of Holland.
MSTERDAM -- The park would be built by the Irish company Airtricity and would contain 72 wind turbines. However, the plan still has to be approved by the ministry of economic affairs.
The park would supply electricity to 320,000 households, starting in 2013. Last month, the cabinet approved a proposal to construct large-scale windmill parks in the North Sea.
