The Wijninstituut will be launching a wine course, starting in March 2010 in the English language in The Hague and Amsterdam.

Over five evening sessions spanning over three months, wine lovers will be able to improve their knowledge of wine as well as wine-tasting skills.

The Dutch wine institute decided to run a wine course in the English language after popular demand from internationals living in the Netherlands.

Het Wijninstituut offers several levels of evening courses on wine and has now developed a hands-on English language wine course which is geared to both newcomers and more experienced wine lovers.

The course is structured around the main grape varieties, an innovative approach to wine teaching which differs from the traditional geographical approach which focuses systematically on the wine regions. Focusing on the principal grape varieties allows students to get an immediate grasp of various wine styles as well as placing more emphasis on the art of wine tasting.
