Weather warning for southern Netherlands

23rd August 2011, Comments 0 comments

The Dutch weather service KNMI has issued a weather warning for the southern half of the country on Tuesday morning. The Royal Meteorological Institute is expecting heavy thunderstorms in the provinces of Zeeland, Noord-Brabant and Limburg, which come with hailstorms and strong gusts of wind. In the course of the day the bad weather will move northeast over the rest of the country.

The thundery, unsettled weather is not unusual for a Dutch summer. The weather warning is one level below a "code red" weather alarm.
