Museumtickets.nl, together with free public museum Montblanc, is launching their first ever Montblanc Museum Awards 11 November, 2010 at the Eden Amsterdam American Hotel.

The Montblanc Museum Awards is an award ceremony and event honoring Dutch museums and the working professionals within the industry.

There are over 800 museums in the Netherlands -- more museums per square kilometer than anywhere else -- with almost 20 million visitors per year.

Museum wins at the Montblanc Museum Awards can fall into one of four categories: Limited Edition Patron of Art, Best Museum for Children, Best Small Museum, and Best Exhibition.

The "Best of" museum awards is measured by public votes, and voting is currently open to the general public by visiting www.montblancmuseumawards.nl. Nominations are already listed on the voting page, and users can simply scroll to select their favourite choice for each category.

Set aside for the patron who has delivered a considerable amount of effort and prestige to the Dutch museum industry, the Limited Edition Patron of Art award will be elected by a professional jury.

The awards ceremony aims to bring awareness to the Dutch museum industry, its
culture and unique art and exhibition projects within the country, says the Montblanc Museum Awards press release.

Museumtickets.nl is an online English language site where visitors can order tickets to museums and attractions in the Netherlands.

Go to www.montblancmuseumawards.nl to vote for the "Best of" museum from the nomination list.
