The new government may move to bar tourists from buying marijuana.

Bad weather wreaks havoc on the Dutch wine industry. Impending budget cuts may reduce government coverage of cancer treatments. A group of parents are concerned that a new horror movie will ruin the holidays for their children.

Banning pot for tourists

For decades, people travelling throughout the Netherlands have been able to legally purchase and consume small amounts of marijuana at one of the country's thousands of coffeeshops. But now the new coalition government is floating the idea of turning those coffee shops into exlcusive clubs that are only open for people who reside in the country. Coffeshop owners say the plan is impractical and will only increase illegal sales of weed.

Dutch wine

The Netherlands ranks 66 on the list of the world's wine producing countries, probably because the climate here is, in many way, not conducive to the cultivation of grapes for wine. But there are around 50 vineyards in the country which produce wine from Dutch grapes. This week's show includes a visit to Kunneman's vineyard in the eastern part of the country.
